Pershing put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 53-3 win over the Northwestern Colts. Given the Doughboys' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Colts are ranked 619th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pershing's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 15.9 points per game. As for Northwestern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Pershing does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwestern, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ypsilanti at 6:00 p.m. on February 24th.
