Softball Recap: Waiakea Warriors vs. Kealakehe Waveriders
On Friday, Waiakea faced Kealakehe in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Waiakea Warriors lost 18-12 to the Kealakehe Waveriders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Waiakea of the 6-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March.
For Kealakehe's part, Rihanna Joaquin was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Freeda Tosie, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Waiakea's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Kealakehe, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
As of now, neither Waiakea nor Kealakehe have any future games scheduled.
