Baseball Recap: Taft Takes a Loss

The Taft Eagles came up short against the Wheaton Academy Warriors on Wednesday and fell 8-4. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Taft got a good showing from Jackson Wilhelm, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Wilhelm has allowed over his last three matches.

At the plate, Taft saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Meara, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Taft now has a losing record of 16-17. As for Wheaton Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-14 record this season.

Taft will face off against Kaneland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wheaton Academy, they will square off against West Aurora at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
