Football Recap: Arapahoe Gets the Win

Arapahoe had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 victory over the Heritage Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since August 24, 2024.

The critical scores for Arapahoe came from Alexa LeDuff and Taylor Bradley.

Arapahoe's defense made their presence known, laying out Maddy Walcott. four times. Leading the way was Karissa Skurdal with two sacks.

Despite the loss, Heritage still got an impressive performance from Alena Shinabery, who rushed for 102 yards and one score on only 13 carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards. Shinabery didn't just play on offense: she also picked up a sack, made one tackle, and defended one pass.

Coincidentally, Arapahoe and Heritage will both be playing Littleton the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
