Basketball Recap: Alameda Comes Up Short

Alameda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 68-31 loss at the hands of the Lake County Panthers. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.

Alameda lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dominic Huerta, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Eduardo Cantillo, who had six points and eight rebounds.

Isaiah Martinez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards for Lake County. Jason Ayers also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Alameda's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lake County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season.

Alameda wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-33 defeat against The Pinnacle on the 30th. As for Lake County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 89-49 loss against Fort Lupton on the 30th.
