Baseball Recap: New Buffalo Comes Up Short

If New Buffalo was riding high fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Cassopolis on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bison fell 10-5 to the Gobles Tigers on Tuesday.

Vaughn Nikkel put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

In other batting news, Nicholas Wolfe made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

New Buffalo has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season. As for Gobles, their win ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-11.

New Buffalo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gobles, they will challenge Lawrence at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
