Soccer Game Preview: Ottawa vs. Metamora

The Ottawa Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Metamora Redbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ottawa knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Metamora likes a good challenge.

Ottawa's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Sterling as they made off with a 7-0 win. Chloe Carmona was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Metamora and East Moline United finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Thursday.

Ottawa is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those six matches. Metamora's draw makes their record 6-8-4 this season.

Ottawa suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Metamora in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
