Basketball Game Preview: Hale Center Owls vs. Olton Mustangs

The Hale Center Owls will face off against the Olton Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hale Center knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Olton likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Hale Center beat Klondike 70-57. That's two games straight that the Owls have won by exactly 13 points.

Meanwhile, Olton rang in the new year with a 55-46 win over Bushland on Friday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Falcons are ranked 992nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hale Center's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Olton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Hale Center beat Olton 53-41 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Does Hale Center have another victory up their sleeve, or will Olton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
