Volleyball Recap: Westerville Central Comes Up Short

Westerville Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westerville South Wildcats. The Warhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Westerville South scored at least nine points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-17, 18-25, 19-25, 15-9.

Westerville South can attribute much of their success to Ed Firth, who had 17 digs and four assists.

Westerville Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Westerville South, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Westerville Central has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Dublin Jerome on the 15th. As for Westerville South, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Westerville North on the 15th.
