Football Recap: Mark Lapointe Lll and Logan Duquette Secure Win for Noble

Noble extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-14 victory over the Massabesic Mustangs. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Leading Noble to victory were Logan Duquette and Mark Lapointe Lll. Duquette gained 129 total yards and a touchdown, while Lapointe Lll rushed for 63 yards. Those 63 rushing yards gave Lapointe Lll a new career-high.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed ten in total. All came from Tyler Gray: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points and added another on an extra point kick.

Noble didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Landon Dubaniewcz, Duquette, and Jackson Mulligan picked up one apiece.

As for Massabesic, they now have a losing record of 1-2. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Massabesic lost, don't look at Nolan Pomerleau. Despite the final result, he rushed for 29 yards and two scores. The Mustangs also got a significant boost from Cooper Smith, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Noble will face off against Bonny Eagle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Massabesic, they will square off against Kennebunk at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
