Soccer Game Preview: Thomas Jefferson vs. Bruton

The Thomas Jefferson Vikings will head out to take on the Bruton Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thomas Jefferson's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Thomas Jefferson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past Windsor 3-2. That's two games straight that Thomas Jefferson have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Bruton came tearing into Thursday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Warriors. Brody McHenry had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Bruton got from the refs.

Tim Walson and Juan Martin scored both of Bruton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Bruton's victory bumped their record up to 9-7-2. As for Thomas Jefferson, the win got them back to even at 8-8-1.

Thomas Jefferson suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Bruton when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
