Basketball Recap: West Florence Drops Highest Score of Season Against St. James

West Florence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 41-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. James Sharks. One positive for the Knights, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

West Florence lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gabreille Gunter, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Kara Fluharty was another key player, putting up two points along with six steals, five boards, and four blocks.

Even though they lost, West Florence smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.

West Florence's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for St. James, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

West Florence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 35-30 defeat against Cheraw on the 21st. As for St. James, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-30 loss against Powdersville on the 20th.
