Baseball Game Preview: Palestine Wildcats vs. Center Roughriders

The Palestine Wildcats will face off against the Center Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Palestine has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Palestine took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Rusk a 1-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Bullard.

Center saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Adkinson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Palestine pushed their record up to 14-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Palestine suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Center when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can Palestine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
