Basketball Recap: MacArthur Comes Up Short

After flying high against Irving last Friday, MacArthur came back down to earth. The MacArthur Cardinals took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richardson Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 682nd, while the Eagles are ranked 82nd).

MacArthur has been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 17 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-24 record this season. As for Richardson, their victory bumped their record up to 22-10.

MacArthur will be playing in front of their home fans against Nimitz at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. MacArthur is facing Nimitz at the right time seeing as Nimitz is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Richardson, they are taking a road trip to challenge Berkner at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Berkner knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 26 contests -- so hopefully Richardson likes a good challenge.
