Softball Game Preview: Pinelands Regional Wildcats vs. Manasquan Warriors

The Pinelands Regional Wildcats will square off against the Manasquan Warriors at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Pinelands Regional's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Manasquan's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Pinelands Regional's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's struggle, when Howell hitters got past them. The Wildcats came up short against the Rebels on Saturday, falling 11-4. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Manasquan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wall Township. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly four runs.

Manasquan's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Pinelands Regional, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1.

Pinelands Regional beat Manasquan 5-2 when the teams last played on April 3rd. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
