Baseball Recap: Hobgood Charter Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Hobgood Charter, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Columbia Wildcats by a score of 10-6 on Tuesday. For the Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

LUKE LANIER spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has become a key player for Hobgood Charter: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 1-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on PARKER CALE, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. LANDON DAVIS also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Hobgood Charter now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Columbia, they dropped their record down to 5-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Hobgood Charter will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
