Softball Recap: Colchester Takes Down Ranked Oxbow

Colchester faced Oxbow in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Lakers blew past the Olympians 12-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lakers.

Destiny Hendy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Harlow Hier was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Kane, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Colchester's record now sits at 7-3. As for Oxbow, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-2 record.

Coming up, Colchester will take on Missisquoi Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oxbow, they will welcome Thetford Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
