Baseball Recap: Fillmore Comes Up Short

Fillmore made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hueneme, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Flashes fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Flashes have suffered against the Vikings since April 23, 2022.

Jacob Renteria was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Fillmore has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Hueneme, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fillmore will welcome Oxnard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Flashes are facing the Yellowjackets at the right time seeing as the Yellowjackets are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Hueneme, they will host Pacifica at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
