Southwest Florida Christian has won three straight games at home, while Evangelical Christian has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The King's will host the Sentinels at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Southwest Florida Christian 3.9, Evangelical Christian 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Southwest Florida Christian barely beat Oasis the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The King's were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Sharks on Tuesday. The King's might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Kaley Fleischer was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Adrianna Thorne was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Southwest Florida Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .594. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Evangelical Christian had just enough and edged out Charlotte 4-2 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Sentinels in their matchups with the Fightin' Tarpons: they've now won seven in a row.
Hayden Billie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Keaunna Green was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Davison, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Southwest Florida Christian has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Evangelical Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 20-3.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Southwest Florida Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .383. However, it's not like Evangelical Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Southwest Florida Christian might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Evangelical Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024.
