El Monte has gone 9-1 against Rosemead recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 3:15 p.m. El Monte is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
El Monte took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Gabrielino 14-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their two-run performance the match before.

Leilani Diaz was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Naima Rodriguez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
El Monte always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 20 runs the game before, Rosemead was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They lost 12-2 to Arroyo.
Rosemead saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jazmin Slayton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
El Monte's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Rosemead, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. El Monte hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. However, it's not like Rosemead struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went El Monte's way against Rosemead in their previous meeting on April 7th, as El Monte made off with a 15-0 victory. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
