Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hobbs

Hobbs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Cheyenne Mountain Indians as they made off with a 12-4 victory.

Chase Brister tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025.

At the plate, Hobbs let Trystan Montez and Cole Kesner run wild. Montez went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Kesner went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Kesner has posted since back in April of 2025. Jayden Hernandez was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Hobbs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cheyenne Mountain only posted an OBP of .333.

Hobbs' record is now 3-4. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Hobbs has already played their next matchup, a 15-5 defeat against Centennial on the 13th. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-5 win against Los Lunas on the 13th.
