After flying high against Parkview on Tuesday, Beloit Memorial came back down to earth. The Purple Knights lost 17-7 to the Elkhorn Elks on Thursday. Even though they lost, the Purple Knights' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Owen West and Callen Espinoza did some serious damage despite the final result: West got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, while Espinoza got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenin Pearson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Beloit Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Elkhorn, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Beloit Memorial will challenge Waterford at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elkhorn, they will face off against Martin Luther at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
