SPARKS, Nev. - the Greenwave scored 27 points in the second quarter to secure a big 47-6 victory over Sparks (Nev.) on Saturday.
Churchill County scored on a touchdown run by
Trent Tarner, a touchdown pass by
Morgan Dirickson to
Cameron Matzen, a punt return touchdown by Matzen and a Tarner touchdown run in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, CC led 33-0 at the half.
The Fallon school expanded its lead to 47 points entering the fourth quarter. The Greenwave scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Tarner.
With the win Churchill County extended its winning streak to five games. Churchill County defeated Elko 48-20 last week.
Sparks' lone touchdown came on a run in the fourth quarter.
When the two teams played each other last season, CC came away with a 48-12 victory.
Sparks (0-5) goes up against Lowry in a IA Northern game matchup next week, while Churchill County (5-0) locks horns with Spring Creek also in a IA Northern game.
