Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Meridian). Everything went their way against the Shelbyville Rams on Monday as they made off with a 19-3 win. The victory was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on four straight.

Meridian got a massive performance out of Shelby Renfro, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Renfro has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Morgan Knierim, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Meridian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive contests.

Meridian's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Shelbyville, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
