Baseball Recap: Northern Guilford Finds Home Field Redemption Against Northwest Guilford

There's no place like home for Northern Guilford, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let the Northwest Guilford Vikings get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Nighthawks: when they faced off against the Vikings last Tuesday, they had to take a 8-5 defeat.

The result came thanks to Kevin Willoughby's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jason Ellis was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Caleb Hinnant, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Northern Guilford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwest Guilford struck out nine times.

Northern Guilford's record is now 9-4. As for Northwest Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Northern Guilford didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-1 victory against Page on the 1st. As for Northwest Guilford, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-3 win against Ragsdale on the 1st.
