Baseball Recap: Carmichaels Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Carmichaels couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Homer-Center Wildcats on Monday, falling 10-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Mighty Mikes, who until this game were averaging 3.73 runs allowed.

Carmichaels saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robbie Wilson-Jones, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Wilson-Jones is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Carmichaels and nudges their season record down to 15-6-1. As for Homer-Center, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Carmichaels does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Homer-Center, they will square off against Eden Christian Academy on Thursday. Eden Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Homer-Center's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
