Holdrege extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Garret Johnson. The Holdrege Dusters enjoyed a cozy 59-43 win over the Adams Central Patriots on Thursday with plenty of help from Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and 11 rebounds. His big performance that evening made it 24 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Wyatt Pfeifer was another key player, going 5-for-9 on his way to 13 points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Adams Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hunter Nepple had 25 points. That was a full 58.1% of Adams Central's points, marking the fourth time in a row Nepple has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Holdrege's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.4 points over those games. As for Adams Central, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-9.

Holdrege wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-52 defeat against Doniphan-Trumbull on the 1st. As for Adams Central, they have also already played their next match, an 84-54 loss against Ogallala on the 1st.
