Baseball Game Preview: Southern Guilford Storm vs. Eastern Guilford Wildcats

Southern Guilford is 2-8 against Eastern Guilford since June of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Storm will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Southern Guilford has nine straight victories, Eastern Guilford has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Wednesday, Southern Guilford was able to grind out a solid win over Western Guilford, taking the game 5-2.

Meanwhile, Eastern Guilford came up short against Western Alamance on Thursday, falling 15-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered against the Warriors since May 7, 2015.

Southern Guilford's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Eastern Guilford, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
