Volleyball Recap: Cumberland's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Cumberland lost against St. Anthony back in October of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pirates fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-12.

Madelyn McElravy paced Cumberland's offense, picking up five kills. McElravy were helped by Alysa Dittamore and Jude Miller, who contributed four assists each.

Cumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11-1. As for St. Anthony, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Cumberland will face off against Arcola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Anthony, they will challenge Altamont at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
