Basketball Game Preview: Catholic Central Crusaders vs. Ballston Spa Scotties

The Catholic Central Crusaders will challenge the Ballston Spa Scotties at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Catholic Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matches -- so hopefully Ballston Spa likes a good challenge.

Catholic Central took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They claimed a resounding 78-28 victory over Varsity Opponent. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Catholic Central's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sei'Mir Roberson, who went 10-for-15 on his way to 25 points in addition to six boards and four steals, and Qwameik Smith, who went 7-for-11 en route to 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Roberson's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Mallory, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 12 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Ballston Spa hadn't done well against Columbia recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Ballston Spa came out on top against Columbia by a score of 65-54.

Catholic Central pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points over those games. As for Ballston Spa, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
