Basketball Recap: Beachside Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Beachside dropped to 3-4 on Tuesday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Orange Park Raiders by a score of 45-43. The Barracudas were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Loss or not, Beachside got some senior leadership from Morgan Cremen and Madilyn Ray. Cremen went 6-for-14 en route to 23 points along with eight boards and seven assists, while Ray almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 blocks. Cremen's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ella Rae Bauman, who posted four points and six rebounds.

As for Orange Park, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games.

Orange Park found their leader in sophomore Ella Crowe, who put up 16 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Crowe is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last six games she's played. Trinity Dinkins was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Coming up, Beachside will be home for the holidays to greet ED White at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orange Park, they will head out on the road to challenge Ridgeview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
