Football Game Preview: Christ the King Crusaders vs. Lake Norman Charter Knights + Official Tickets

The Christ the King Crusaders will venture away from home to face off against the Lake Norman Charter Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Christ the King is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Community School of Davidson just ended the team's four-game winning streak last Friday. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans.

Christ the King might have lost, but man, Brennen Wallace was a machine: he rushed for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Wallace also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making eight total tackles and defending one pass.

Meanwhile, Lake Norman Charter played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Community School of Davidson, falling 35-7. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lake Norman Charter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sander Griffin and Dorian Morgan. Griffin also made five total tackles, which is notable because Lake Norman Charter is 2-1 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-3 otherwise.

Lake Norman Charter now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Christ the King, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 4-2.

Christ the King couldn't quite finish off Lake Norman Charter when the teams last played back in September of 2024 and fell 24-21. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
