Basketball Recap: Dunbar Falls Despite Big Games from Brayant Corona and Jamari Cobb

Dunbar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cape Coral Seahawks. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Seahawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Dunbar's loss came despite strong showings from Jamari Cobb and Brayant Corona. Cobb went 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points, while Corona posted 19 points and three steals. Corona's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kristian Joseph was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Dunbar's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Cape Coral, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Dunbar wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-58 loss against Fort Myers on the 11th. As for Cape Coral, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-41 victory against Ida Baker on the 9th.
