Softball Recap: DuBois Central Catholic Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, DuBois Central Catholic rose to the challenge on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Curwensville Golden Tide. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Rylee Kulbatsky spent all 12 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up 21 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Lily Davidson was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

DuBois Central Catholic now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Curwensville, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-7.

Looking ahead, DuBois Central Catholic will square off against Juniata Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. Curwensville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
