Baseball Recap: Oxford Falls Short of North Branford in the Playoffs

Oxford and North Branford squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Oxford had to settle for second. They fell 6-1 to the Thunderbirds. If the Wolverines were looking for revenge after losing 13-7 to the Thunderbirds when the teams met back in June of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Oxford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole O'Connell, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Oxford has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for North Branford, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-4.

While Oxford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
