Baseball Recap: Gulliver Prep Comes Up Short

Gulliver Prep fell victim to Benjamin and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Raiders have suffered since April 30, 2024.

Landy Garcia was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Gulliver Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Parson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. That stolen base marked the first that Parson snagged this season.

Gulliver Prep dropped their record down to 3-18 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Benjamin, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-10 record.

Looking ahead, Gulliver Prep will face off against JC Bermudez Doral at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Benjamin, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Royal Palm Beach at 6:30 p.m.
