Football Recap: St. Charles North Skates Past Harvard with Ease

St. Charles North put their dominant defense on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 69-0 win over the Harvard Hornets. The North Stars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by 21 points or more this season.

Alexandria Richardson was her usual excellent self, rushing for 209 yards and five TDs on only ten carries. Her rushing production has been exceptional as that marked her fifth straight game with at least 130 rushing yards. Kaelie Tomalak made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. Charles North was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 310 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 174 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

St. Charles North didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Emma West led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Richardson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

St. Charles North's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Harvard, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

St. Charles North didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-13 win against Rolling Meadows on the 20th. As for Harvard, they will host Hononegah at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' defense has only allowed 2.9 points per game this season, so the Hornets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
