Preview: Northwest Falcons vs. Pine Hill Warriors
Northwest is 1-9 against Pine Hill since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Northwest Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Pine Hill Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Northwest is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 16-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Northwest managed to keep up with Tse' Yi' Gai until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Northwest ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-43 walloping at the hands of Tse' Yi' Gai.
Meanwhile, Pine Hill had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 75-32 win over Ramah on the road. Pine Hill has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 24 points or more this season.
Brett Baker was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Channing James, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Pine Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Northwest took a serious blow against Pine Hill when the teams last played back in January, falling 78-18. Can Northwest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
