Basketball Recap: Oconee County Takes a Loss

Oconee County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were beaten by the T.L. Hanna Yellow Jackets 70-43. The Warriors lost against the Yellow Jackets in their previous head to head back in November of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 61-56 score last time.

Oconee County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Luke Bolding, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points. Grayson Hockaday was another key player, putting up seven points and six boards.

As for T.L. Hanna, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since December 28, 2024 (when they won 63-28).

T.L. Hanna found their leader in sophomore Brice Wiersma, who almost dropped a double-double with 28 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Allen, who posted nine points and three steals.

Oconee County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-47 loss against Apalachee on the 24th. As for T.L. Hanna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-62 defeat against Lanier on the 24th.
