Volleyball Recap: Schalmont's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Schalmont took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Academy of the Holy Names, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Sabres had just enough and edged out Academy of the Holy Names 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sabres have posted since October 8, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Schalmont got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 18-25, 25-23, 24-26, 15-12.

Nadia Sawyer paced Schalmont's offense, picking up 28 kills. Sawyer got some help from Olivia Dagostino and her 28 assists. Dagostino also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Madi Montrym, racking up five apiece.

Schalmont's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Academy of the Holy Names, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
