It's playoff time, and Moapa Valley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Boulder City Eagles on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Eagles last Thursday, they had to take a 7-3 defeat.

Saphire Holm spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Moapa Valley got a big performance out of Claire Holm, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Evalynn Houston, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Moapa Valley's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Boulder City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-18 record this season.

As of now, neither Moapa Valley nor Boulder City have any future games scheduled.
