Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Park Railsplitters vs. Allen Park Jaguars

Lincoln Park hasn't had much luck against Allen Park recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Railsplitters will host the Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Lincoln Park turned things around against Edsel Ford on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Thunderbirds 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Railsplitters have posted against the Thunderbirds since April 23, 2021.

Meanwhile, Allen Park entered their tilt with Anchor Bay on Saturday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Tars.

Melody Filipiak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kiley Carr, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten games.

Allen Park's win bumped their record up to 25-6. As for Lincoln Park, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.
