Baseball Recap: Western Christian Triumphs

The third road match was the charm for Western Christian, as they earned their first road win of the season. They had just enough and edged out the Jurupa Valley Jaguars 4-3.

Will Stradley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Stradley was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, Reece Peters was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Evan Rivera also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Western Christian picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Jurupa Valley, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Coming up, Western Christian is taking a road trip to face off against Mountain View at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mountain View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Jurupa Valley, they will welcome Palm Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jurupa Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Palm Springs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
