Wellington skates past Brookside with ease

Recap: Wellington Dukes vs. Brookside Cardinals

The Wellington Dukes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 58-27 victory over Brookside on the road. Wellington might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Wellington was led to victory by Gabby Miller and Brooke Lehmkuhl. Miller scored 13 points along with six rebounds, while Lehmkuhl dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lehmkuhl has scored at least 25% of Wellington's points. Taylor Morris was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

The victory makes it two in a row for Wellington and bumps their season record up to 7-2. As for Brookside, they bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Wellington will take on Clearview at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Clearview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 636th, while Wellington is ranked 274th). As for Brookside, they will head out on the road to face off against Black River at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
