Football Recap: New Prairie Takes a Loss

New Prairie lost against NorthWood back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars were dealt a 51-14 defeat at the hands of the Panthers. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-7.

Despite the loss, New Prairie still got an impressive performance from Reed Robinson, who rushed for 78 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Jeffrey Eash was a one-man wrecking crew For NorthWood. as he rushed for 91 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Eash didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made three total tackles. Another player making a difference was Deondray Monroe, who picked up 99 receiving yards and one score.

New Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for NorthWood, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

New Prairie and NorthWood will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cougars will take on rival South Bend Saint Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, NorthWood is set to challenge their familiar foe Wawasee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
