Basketball Recap: Algona Gets the Win

Algona won against Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS last Monday with 70 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Algona Bulldogs came out on top against Hampton-Dumont/CAL by a score of 70-58. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with Hampton-Dumont/CAL: they've now won six in a row.

Algona's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Hampton-Dumont/CAL, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Looking ahead, Algona will take on Humboldt at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Humboldt knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 contests -- so hopefully Algona likes a good challenge. As for Hampton-Dumont/CAL, they will venture away from home to face off against Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton-Dumont/CAL is facing Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS at the right time seeing as Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
