Basketball Recap: Walsenburg Comes Up Short

Walsenburg came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Sierra Stallions 60-25. The Panthers were down 51-15 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Walsenburg's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Adrian Vallejos, who posted ten points, and Logan Tenorio, who scored four points and 14 rebounds. Tenorio has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 17 times he's played.

Walsenburg has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. Sierra's victory bumped their record up to 4-19.

Coming up, Walsenburg will square off against Mitchell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Walsenburg is facing Mitchell at the right time seeing as Mitchell is stuck on a 20-game losing streak. Sierra does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
