Baseball Game Preview: Indio Rajahs vs. Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs

For the first time this season, Indio will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will challenge the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Indio has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Indio fell victim to Hesperia and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Scorpions, falling 18-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Rajahs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Indio saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jose Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Rodriguez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Meanwhile, Coachella Valley came up short against Central on Friday and fell 9-5.

Coachella Valley got a big performance out of Angel Diaz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Diaz has posted since back in March of 2024. Daniel Ceja was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Indio's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Coachella Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Indio couldn't quite get it done against Coachella Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can Indio avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
