Recap: McGavock Raiders vs. Smyrna Bulldogs
The McGavock Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Smyrna 61-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Smyrna's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elliyon Kinzer, who scored 16 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyreque Mccarver, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
McGavock has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Smyrna, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McGavock will take on Antioch at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Antioch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 509 points over their last eight games. Smyrna won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rockvale at 3:30 p.m. on January 6th. Rockvale is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
