Softball Recap: Notre Dame Find Success

Notre Dame never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against South San Francisco on Wednesday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-0 back in April.

Anya Shah made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over 5.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Lucia Diaz was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Catherine Salas, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one triple and two RBI.

Notre Dame's record is now 14-9. As for South San Francisco, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Notre Dame has already played their next contest, a 15-0 victory against Jefferson on the 9th. As for South San Francisco, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-4 win against Castilleja on the 9th.
